Unlike those who think they can understand the sound of an acoustic musical instrument through a sound-file on YouTube, we will give you the opportunity to play the drums that have made the recording history and base your opinion on what you tried in person, not from someone else’s experiences.
This is how the Masterclass works:
- The first two hours will take place in the main room with Dave, with over 35 snare drums and 8 drum kits. He will teach you the technical and historical characteristics, making you understand the sound of each drum.
- Following, Daniele of Marzi Recording Studio will hold a one and a half hour lesson in the morning and four hours during the afternoon on acoustic and recording. A path that concerns recording techniques (from the simplest to the most complex), hints of acoustics and ear-training and practical examples customized according to the needs of each of the participants.
- After a short launch break in the studio lounge you’ll spend another 45 minutes in the main room with Dave to test all the gear and record a tune of your choice in 3 different takes.
- During the remaining time you’ll have the chance to stay in the control room with Daniele listening to the drums and asking your questions.
The total Masterclass time is 8 hours .
